Now it is the Dems turn at bat
Thank goodness! The Democrats are ready to pounce on the Republicans, who left Tampa without a bounce! The Democrats have the talent but the GOP will out-spend them by a huge margin. Can a grassroots campaign like Buddy Roemer's beat the big money? (One of our Fighting Bob Fest speakers, who will undoubtedly speak to the influence of money.)
My view of the GOP convention: more media than delegates; no news; no plans. An almost complete waste of time for everyone. The only thing you wanted to see was Clint Eastwood and the governor of New Jersey, whose career probably came to a halt with his absurd shouting match a/k/a keynote.
Now for the Dems. The show will be slightly longer than the GOP Convention. The Dems may need the extra time to explain why the convention is in anti-union North Carolina! Without labor giving 100 percent there is little chance Obama will win. They start by giving away important points by holding the convention in the worst state in the union on worker's rights. The Dems start with a punch in labor's jaw.
Well here we go. The media is trying to persuade us that Obama has not ginned up the youth vote. Really? Young voters for Romney? I doubt it.
Don't forget Fighting Bob Fest on the 15th of September. We have a tremendous program and plans for the future.

Ron Paul's lack of clout at the Republican Convention is probably a metaphor for the youth vote. Youth were heavily outnumbered by elders seeking power, welfare, and warfare that is unsustainable, even should the rich be robbed of all their ill gotten gains. Hopefully, the outnumbered youth will respond politically and not violently. That could call for recall of troops from around the world to quell regime change at home. Not what Paul had in mind when he pleaded for return of troops. Not that Paul was an isolationist, he was for free but unsubsidized trade. Might Paul have had a better voice at the Democratic Convention? Democrats have a big tent. Still, while the young, traditionally deferent to the wisdom of their elders in matters political, must see little wisdom in the elders of either camp. Just a bunch of grasping old fools.
