McKibben gives us a preview
Fighting Bob Fest is two weeks away.

We already know that Bill McKibben will be a great speaker at this year's Fighting Bob Fest, because he gave a great speech four years ago when he co-keynoted Bob Fest number seven in Baraboo.

But if that is not current enough for you, a recent interview he gave to Huffington Post serves as a great primer for September 15.

The interviewer, Joanna Zelman, asks McKibben how he maintains his energy in the fight to reduce carbon emissions when the fossil fuel industry has so much control over the public policy process, and the global CO2 problem only seems to worsen with each passing day. Does he ever feel like giving up?

"Some days, sure," McKibben said. "But there are so many good people around the world engaged in this fight, many of them in places that have done nothing to contribute to this problem. As long as they're willing to fight, so am I."

Bob Fest, of course, is one of those places.

The Huffington Post interview is short, leaving you plenty of time to re-read McKibben's essential Rolling Stone article from earlier this summer about what our planet's warmer future looks like.

Read them both and come to Bob Fest ready to participate.
