Recalls are not favored? Who says?
All of a sudden, in the final stages of the recall, we heard that people in Wisconsin "don't like recalls" even though we had no experience with recalls. Some are arguing now that recall was the wrong vehicle. Really? Where did this idea come from? Would you be surprised if the Walker-Koch folks planted the idea and then pushed it?

Watching Bill Moyers yesterday it seemed to me that our favorite journalist--commentator--has concluded that democracy is on leave. Given the fact that the Koch robbers put $30-50 million into the Walker race and are poised to put many millions into Tammy Baldwin's race, we must discuss the likely outcome. Can you imagine how much money the extreme right would pay to have Tea Party control of the United States Senate? Imagine this scenario. It looks like the Wisconsin Senate race will determine control of the U.S. Senate. How much could they pour into Tammy's opponent? A total of $100 million would not shock me. If they do, can Tammy win?

It is hard to talk about the realities that are with us given the Supreme Court's nonsense; including
"money is speech" and "corporations are people" and no restrictions on the money! Let's face it: they have deep deep pockets and we don't.

Yet the day after the Walker victory we got a fundraising call from a Democratic group. And they will keep on flowing with the promise that "we can beat big money" but we need your $50, $100 or $1,000 dollar contribution to do it.

Jutice Ryan's speech comes to mind. Will we elect patriotic men and women or corporate serfs?

Look out folks.

The reality may be that Tammy has lost her senate bid already. What's left of democracy is on the run. The far right believe they indeed have a democracy. The money says so. Our elections are about $$$ and not about votes.

Imagine what Wisconsin will be like with Walker and a solid Republican't control of the entire legislature and our supreme court. Now imagine what Wisconsin will be like when both senators are Republican't and the majority in congress the same.

Redistricting isn't about fairness. Never was. It's about setting the stage for one-party rule. By Jove! Walker and the Fits boys are seeing to this. Wisconsin is now locked in to be Republican't turf for at least the next generation. How many years is a generation? At least 30.

Imagine the country shifting solidly to the right with the cons in charge and absolute control.

Batten down the hatches, laddies and lassies, we are in for a rough voyage ahead.

Too bad the Democrats are such whimps. Who takes a whimp seriously? Democracy... is it failing or simply ailing?

How do we change this?

Are we do for a total change in the type of government we have? Do we let the right wingers and those with the wealth take over? Why are so many at the bottom of the food chain so pro-Republican't?

Still can picture Alioto shaking his head at Obama about the Citizens United ruling. I bet the wagging head is now an ear to ear grin.

At some point we should be able to get these decision makers for treason.

Walker had his brat fest and we have Bob Fest.

He invited the conquered to feast and imbibe not only on bad food but also on his wonderfulness.

Let's invite Walker to Bob Fest and offer him a seat in the breakouts. This may not change his mind but it would let him know that there are still folks in Wisconsin capable of thought.

How many elections will it take to get the Koch Adelsons to spend all their money?

As far as the "experts" on the recall, they're now picking the Giants over the Pats in the last Super Bowl.
