Operation Enduring Freedom
I would support a new rule that would rename all military ops when a new administration comes in. Instead of "Operation Enduring Freedom," a name that seems more appropriate to Hollywood than Afghanistan, how about "Operation Big Flop"? Or, "Operation If You Think Iraq Was a Fool's Errand, Wait Until You See Kabul."

Romney has accused Rick Santorum of being a tool of big bad labor unions. Egad! Santorum even voted against right-to-work legislation in Pennsylvania. I would think this simply shows that Santorum has some lucid moments not a pattern. One robin does not a spring make.

I get an uneasy feeling when listening to Jeff Toobin or most other pundits as they help shape the public response to Obamacare, that the six-hour Supreme Court argument is a well planned circus. "Same circus different clowns," or perhaps it is same clowns different circus. I could be wrong, and will admit it if the court happens to vote to uphold the law, but everything seems to point to a political decision.

This group stole the presidential election in 2000 in a decision so awful that even the court said that the decision must not be cited in the future. But they got what they wanted. Bush not Gore was sworn into office. Then consider the inane holding that "corporations are people" and their contributions to candidates cannot be stopped or even limited. And now this same team is warming up in the bullpen to take on the most important accomplishment of Obama in three years: health care.

We know how Scalia, Alito and Clarence Thomas--whose wife founded a Tea Party group to stop Obamacare--will vote. They begin with three votes in the pocket. Hope my uneasy feeling is from some bad pink slime not politics.

Three governors gathered in Nebraska for a March picnic. Actually, they were trying to rid us not of pink slime but of the name! Brownback and Perry are my favorites. They want it called "textured beef," and they say it tastes like rabbit meat. (I'm only kidding about the rabbit meat.)

I have another solution for cheap lunches for kids. The NY Times wrote about lots of race horses going down with broken limbs. The injured horses are killed on the track. Why not eat them? "Pass the Man o' War."

Mark Block got at least $200,000 for managing the Herman Cain laugher.

We did not get better schools under the Democrat leadership(they got worse)Fair taxation under the democrats is a joke! There isn't a tax or tax increase they don't love! (take the 7.8% dane county increase this last year(when it was not necessary because the unions were asked to pay their fair share, but Falk did the nasty anyway)
High speed rail? The tax payers would subsidize that albatross forever and you know it! 75% of the people voted against this horrible idea in a referendum thank God! Tuition goes up in every administration! Look at all the TajMahals the University keeps building! Look at the Dane County Airport cost? Ridership went up 2% and that probably is normal annual growth! There won't be any good jobs available if you keep taxing business to look elsewhere! Look at Dane county and the anti-business liberals who put up all kinds of roadblocks(rules, zoning, permits,) against business. and last but certainly not the least is the pablum puking enviro-mentalists who stymy our economy to the point that there need not be a recession! (Example) Facts approx 6,800 people die annually because of pollution, but on the other hand millions of innocent babies die annually because of abortion! Talk about hypocrites.
All the Democrats have ever done is tax, tax and tax some more to solve problems off the backs of tax payers, and all you have done is create not just a generation of dependents but a whole class of dependents, and these people just love to take advantage of us poor working slobs.
Entitlements must go! Period! Why do you think there is such an achievement gap in school? These people don't have to learn because, they get everything free!
I am 76 years old and have to hold down two part time jobs just to keep our heads above water. All of our costs keep going up, including taxes, except for this year the only tax that went up was county tax, and if Falk would have stopped buying swamp land our county would not have to pay $93,000 a day to pay the debt load.
I read your article in the Capital times and disagree with everything you and the Cap times stand for!
You may think that I am some sort of right wing radical, but I am simply part of the silent majority, independent, with one vote that belongs to no party or organization, but my vote usually
coincides with the majority who elected a majority of right wingers in both houses two years ago, including the Governor.
Hopefully you will be insightful enough to realize that the majority knows which policies to support.
The Democrats have always thought that they knew what is the best for us? No they don't, everything they have tried has failed, and cost us more money, Could list many examples, but my word limit is up.
