Sad day me arse
The worst member of Congress, in my view, is John Boehner. A hypocrite with a nasty persona, he said that the Rangel ethics trial was a "sad day" in the House. I guess he is referring to Rangel's alleged misdeeds, but maybe not. Possibly he is upset that the House is looking into unethical behavior under Speaker Pelosi.

The next story gives a hint why he looked a bit woozy. The Wyly brothers are accused of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fraudulent activity. Why would this bother brother Boehner? Because the brothers gave millions to Republicans and other right-wing groups. They gave $200,000 for the Bush inaugural bash; funded Swift Boat attacks on John Kerry; supported Dick Armey. It would be a sad day if the GOP sugardaddies joined Madoff in prison.

The Chamber of Commerce is blaming Obama for job losses when the Washington Post says the Chamber's members have cut 8 million jobs! And, with profits at a record $1.2 trillion, one would think they would spread the wealth. No way. We were reminded of this truth, "Corporations exist to create profits for shareholders, not jobs for workers." Some call it capitalism.

John Boehner and a sad day? I wonder if it was a bad day the day that John Boehner was handing out PAC checks from Brown & Williamson tobacco company on the House floor in 1995?
The guys a loser and a hypocrite!
In addition to that his voice has a certain droning, annoying factor.

Speaking further of hypocrisy, the C of C whining about job losses? Weren't they one of the lobbies that supported NAFTA? How much do they exploit illegal immigration as a source for cheap labor?
The Chamber needs to look in the mirror when they bemoan the loss of American jobs.
The question that I have is this...
Who is going to buy the outsourced-labor products while the middle class is being killed off?
My solution is to buy local as often as I can regardless of the cost!

The right (the US Chamber of Commerce in this case) will continue to lie and dissemble* -- it's the ONLY 'issue' that they are attractive on! Who doesn't like to hear that they're the most handsome/beautiful person with the highest moral standard and the hardest worker and are going to exist eternally, etc, etc, yadda-yadda-yadda...? Talk is cheap -- barrooms are full of 'unrecognized' heroes and 'eloquent' speakers. That's why the right-wingers are usually more popular when they're OUT of office -- they can promise the world (low taxes, higher wages, lower prices, etc) and even semi-deliver for a relatively short time (while they 'eat the seed corn' that had been stored up during the intervening moderate/liberal/progressive era), but soon it falls apart as the corporate race for profitability overwhelms any and all ethical/moral considerations.
