Justice sneaks into the room
Despite the absurd trial at Gitmo, some justice crept into the room. A surprise visitor. Like the fog described by Robert Frost, it settled in.
The military tribunal appointed to convict bin Laden's driver did the near-impossible. They gave him a five and one-half year sentence and that is offset by the time spent in detention. He should be free in six months, but hold on Fridley, the Bush team says that they can hold him at Gitmo "until the end of the war on terror." Highly unlikely in my view when the judge said, "Mr. Hamdan, I hope the day comes when you are able to return to your wife and daughters and your country. Inshallah."
Hamden said to the judge, "God willing," and the judge responded, "God willling."
