Fighting Bob Fest
As the awful news flows in from Iraq and Afghanistan, my mind floats to Bob Fest scheduled for September 8 in our adopted home, Baraboo. Twenty American soldiers killed this week; 79 bodies sent to the morgue in Baghdad; more proof Cheney lied about the connection between Saddam and 9/11; sectarian violence on the rise, the surge an early failure.

We need a gathering to lay out our plans for, dare I say it, peace. More than 20,000 progressives, libertarians, Democrats, Greens, Republicans, and politically homeless have attended the first five Bob Fests, and we anticipate more than 7,000 this year. Peace will be our theme. Can we deal with global warming while engaged in war? Is universal health care out of the question as hundreds of billions are spent to fight in a civil war? Are we in a perpetual state of war?

We need your help. Let Laura know if you are willing to volunteer for the largest political gathering in the nation by sending an e-mail message to comments@fightingbob.com. We need your energy and your ideas.

New Look: With some adustments many of you sugested, we think you will like our new look. Let us know.

Happy Easter.
