Can spring be far behind?
By now, I'm tired of "Isn't it pretty?" comments and would like to pull the golf clubs out of the basement. But that's nothing. I know the clubs will be out in April. When I think about Iraq, Afghanistan, cluster bombs, made in America, waiting for a Lebanese child to take the wrong step, the "winter of our discontent" comes to mind.
We know spring follows winter but we don't know if the utter madness of this administration will come to an end in 2009 without starting another war with another "enemy." Will our nation ever know peace again? Would we even recognize it if we saw it?
Your ideas for Bob Fest VI, are more than welcome. Let's agree on the theme and a course of action. More than 20,000 have attended the first five, with 6,500 brave souls joining Granny D in freezing weather last September. This year we checked the Farmer's Almanac and September 8 will be 75 degrees and partly cloudy. Perfect weather.
Troha: Dennis Troha's attorney has a unique explanation for the checks sent to the Doyle campaign on the same day and for the amount of his loans to his children. "The donations to the same person or entity were on the same days and for the same amounts because individuals decided to contribute to the same people...there was pretty much agreement on who to support." Duh. And, pretty much agreement which candidate for governor would win, and agreement the governor would have the ultimate decision on the Kenosha casino, and, and, and...
How dumb must campaigns be to not take note of large contributions in the same amount from the same family on the same day?
When will the spring of public financing arrive? See you at Bob Fest!
