Please donate to FightingBob.com
FightingBob.com turned eight years this week.

When we started FightingBob.com on February 23, 2003, one promise we made was not to inundate you with fundraising requests or clutter up the site with advertising. We have kept those promises, and today I am writing to you to tell you that we need your financial support.

How about a $108 donation to celebrate our eighth birthday? Or how about $80: $10 for every year FightingBob.com has been raising hell and keeping you informed online? Or maybe $14: one dollar for every brave state senator who left the state rather than watching Scott Walker’s henchmen set us back more than 50 years. Whatever you can give, please send a check for that amount to FightingBob.com, Post Office Box 2131, Madison, Wisconsin, 53701, or donate online through our secure PayPal account.

FightingBob.com has been going strong and growing with volunteer writers and editors, but Web design, Web hosting, site maintenance, administrative assistance and professional copyediting cost money. That is why we are asking for your help in the form of a donation of whatever you can spare today. Our IRS non-profit status means your contribution is tax-free.

The People's Legislature
To Friends of Fighting Bob:

FightingBob.com will host the second People’s Legislature this Sunday at 10:00a.m.-- 4:00 p.m.

Place: Crowne Plaza Madison—4402 East Washington Ave in Madison

We expect talks from Nino Amato, John Nichols, Mike McCabe, Peg Lautenschlager, Rep. Mark Pocan, Mike Lipp, Jack Mitchell, and others. I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

We will get an update on demonstrations; appoint committees to work on issues such as: labor rights; the protection of Public Radio & Public TV; senior and Badger care; upcoming elections; the "Koch" call with Walker; the effort to sell our power plants; and the nutty idea of splitting the UW system.

We need your input.

Questions? Call Lily at 608-256-1003 or me.

My Best,
Ed Garvey

Rallies and vigils for public employees
There are rallies, vigils and pickets taking place throughout the state on behalf of public employees and against Governor Scott Walker's attempt to impoverish them and destroy their unions.

Much emphasis is being placed on two Capitol rallies and candle light vigils on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, February 15, there will be a noon rally on on the State Street steps of the Capitol and a candle light vigil in the same spot from 3-7 p.m.

On Wednesday, February 16, the noon rally will happen on the King Street steps and another vigil in the same location again from 3-7.

Buses are departing for the rallies all over the state. Bus schedules and other details can be found through links on the AFSCME Wisconsin website.
